East Berlin. 1984 year. In five years, the whole world will watch the fall of the Berlin Wall. Stasi agent Gerd Wiesler is a high-class specialist devoted to socialist ideals. Not trusting the trustworthiness of the theater dramatist Georg Dreiman, he auditions Dreyman's apartment on Colonel Grubitz's orders. Soon Wiesler, who gained access to someone else's private life, is imbued with sympathy for the person he is forced to watch from morning to night.
