Film adaptation of Eric Lomax's autobiography. During World War II, Eric was captured by Japanese forces. Having been captured by the enemy in Singapore, the soldier ends up in a prisoner of war camp, where he is subjected to torture. After the camp, he was assigned to work for the Thai-Burma Railway. In it, on behalf of Eric Lomax, a tragic story was told, which happened not during the war, but after it. Eric Lomax has been fascinated by trains and everything related to them since childhood. Due to an accident, he ended up in one of those terrible places that are still talked about and remembered. But unlike a huge number of poor people, he survived and even tried to draw a map of the railway, which he was going to transmit on a homemade radio to his allies. After all those terrible events, his 50 years were sharpened by revenge. To reflect the authenticity of the character of the main character and the surrounding "background", Colin Firth, who played the main role, personally met with Lomax, who is now in his 90s. First of all, this is a film about the persistence of human will in conditions in which it is almost impossible to survive. In his biography, Lomax described all kinds of torture and interrogations, which devastated him until the end of the war. By staging a biographical drama, Jonathan Teplitsky in "Revenge" revealed the potential that he showed, but was not able to convey in his previous works.
