Although the story is an adaptation of Mary Shelley's novel, there is no such character as Igor. The director wanted to make a more modern version, but at the same time, the plot follows the same order as in the book. The role of Frankenstein went to the Scotsman James McAvoy, a currently popular actor who starred in "X-Men", "Trance", "Broody" and others. His assistant is played by Daniel Radcliffe, who has shown that he is able to move away from the character of Harry Potter and perform more serious roles. So, he played the famous American poet and beatnik Allen Ginsberg in "Kill Your Favorites" and took part in the filming of the adaptation of the story of Stephen King's son "Horns".
