And so it happened, the film entered the main block in the fight for the main prize. At the same time, the film became the seventh work from the brothers' total filmography, which entered this film festival as a participant. The first film was the film "The Promise" (1996). In addition, "Two days, one night" is the fifth collaboration with actor Fabrizio Rongione, with whom the Dardennes began to collaborate in 1999 (the film "Rosetta"). After the broadcast of the Belgian drama at Cannes, it was acquired by Sundance Select for screenings in America. If the film participates in other festivals, it was shown in Munich and Sydney. On the territory of the latter, "Two days, one night" won a prize (in 2014). Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne wrote the script in six months, which fell on the period from October 2012 to March 2013. Filming began in the summer of 2013, in the province of Liège, in the city of Serena. Marion Cotillard was cast after the directors met her in Belgium.
