Kristen Stewart, who played Snow White, did not take part in the filming, as her character does not appear in the sequel. Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Nick Frost and Sam Claflin returned to their roles from the first part. Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt and Rob Brydon also joined the cast. The composer of the film "The Huntsman and the Snow Queen" was once again James Newton Howard.
