Jagger himself acted as one of the producers and screenwriters of the project. They have already worked with Scorsese in 2001 ("Concert for the City of New York") and 2008 ("The Rolling Stones: Let There Be Light"). Martin Scorsese, who directed the pilot series "Vinyl", invited screenwriters and producers with whom he had already worked together to the project. Terence Winter, who was involved in the creation of "Underground Empire" and "The Wolf of Wall Street", was invited to direct in 2007. In total, more than 20 people acted as producers of the musical series, including Allen Coulter ("The Sopranos"), George Mastras ("Letting Go"), John P. Melfi ("House of Cards") and others. The role of the head of the recording studio was performed by Bobby Cannavale ("Ant-Man", "The Spy"). The offer came back in 2012, when the actor played in the TV series "Underground Empire", the creation of which Scorsese was involved. The "Vinyl" project also stars Olivia Wilde (Devon Finestra), Ray Romano (Zach Yankovic), Juno Temple (Jamie Wine), Annie Parris (Andrea Zito), Susan Hayward and others. The director's chair of the series was occupied by several people: Martin Scorsese ("The Aviator"), S. J. Clarkson ("Orange - the hit of the season"), Allen Coulter ("Sons of Anarchy"), Carl Franklin ("Motherland") and others. "Vinyl" premiered on HBO on February 14, 2016. The first season has 10 episodes. The second season is expected to be released in 2017.
