One evening, all the books in Al F. Iveson's rare book store are mysteriously transformed into a single mysterious book with the number "1" on the cover, the contents of which are presented in the form of statistical tables, one minute of all humanity. The four people who were in the store at that moment - its owner Al F. Iveson, the manager Maya Satin, the cleaner Agnus Andersen and the mysterious buyer Sven Tamele, according to the law, are isolated by detective Phil Pitch in the "Institute for the Protection of Reality" to conduct tests that, according to Pitch, should extract from them the truth about what really happened...
