A ten-year-old boy, Lewis Barnavelt, always thought of himself as an ordinary child. In truth, it was until he came to live in Michigan with his slightly odd uncle Jonathan after losing his parents. A man lives with his neighbor Mrs. Zimmerman in a very old mysterious house full of clocks. Uncle Jonathan will open the real world of magic to the boy.
