1982, the times of the Cold War. British intelligence learns that the USSR has created the latest combat aircraft - the MiG-31 "Fiery Fox", which flies at a speed of six times the speed of sound, is practically invisible to radars, and its weapons are controlled by brain impulses. The tests take place at a secret air base deep in the country. A joint British-American operation to hijack a plane begins with the selection of a pilot who is fluent in Russian. They manage to persuade Vietnam War veteran Mitchell Gant, who flies to Moscow under the name of a real businessman.
